Trusting Strangers

Have you ever opened up to a complete stranger because you know you'll never see them again? You felt the need to talk about something profoundly deep in your life in a cliff notes type of description?
It's amazing how often people do that. 

However, with current technology we never know if a candid conversation will end up on YouTube!
We humans are very complex. It's always easy to think you know the answers when in reality, we learn as we go.

Mentally Bulletproof

If you aren't you're screwed because some heavy duty situations will just happen in life.

Fragility of the human spirit of those who have suffered greatly will either make one stronger or weaker. It's all in the mindset of the individual.

Fortunately I was born with a warrior spirit. 😇

Such A DAY!

The anniversary of the September 11th memorial tribute is opening a wound that never healed for me.

The aftermath of carnage leaves holes in your soul.
I will never be able to get the images out of my head. People jumping to their death, people panicked walk running across the Brooklyn Bridge. A woman scorched laying on the ground close to one of the subway entrances opposite Pace University.
There is a void in my life. I tired to makeup for that void by anchoring myself and rushing into remarriage with a man I only knew for ten months.
Not what I'd recommend to anyone whose recently experienced traumatic life events that become historic event's.
Add the toxic people that were coming for me because my exhusband left me as his beneficiary on several life insurance policies.
While that was going on my ex's XFiance decided to contact my deceased husbands estranged family. A family that never met him. My exhusband was planning to meet his biological father and his half siblings.
I can't even make this stuff up it's so bizarre.
This fruitloop decided to instigate conflict between myself and my exhusbands half sister. I kid you not!
This woman [half sister] started calling me making threats. I just ignored this lost soul and offered to pray for her. After I told her to #gfyah expletive. Use your imagination!
So at Peter's memorial service at St. Anselems, South Bronx NY, this half sister attempted to block me from returning back to my seat at the pew in church.
YES this crazy shit happened! So the lady that I am I just basically had to barrel over her. Had she of raised her hands to me, well that would have been grounds for an arrest.
Dumb leading dumb never is a well contrived act.
His poor half sister had some recurring problems and she died just a few years after I had the pleasure of meeting her.
Now fast forward, here it is 18 years later and the predictions that were made regarding feckless spending, two separate foreclosures homes that were paid in full have sadly come to fruition.
Like Peter said, couldn't shine your shoes.
Sleep in peace my bittaboy.
His dear Mom would call him bittaboy with her German accent. He loved chocolate so that was one of his nicknames.

Senior Online Dating

If I had to write my online profile with my comedic sense of humor it would read like this;
Walks on moonlit sandy beaches sound good but bathrooms need to be close by. I tend to pee often.
As far as eye color, hopefully you have two. If not prosthetics are ok.
No loud music in small places only because it might set off my tinnitus.
Please schedule our first meeting before 6pm only because I can't see to good for night driving.
If you wear a hearing aid, don't forget to change the batteries because if I have to talk too loud so you can hear me everyone will hear my conversation.
Be funny, not stupid.

When You

When you think you know the answers...

But you don't. No matter what we plan for the future, and that's a fact.  We do our best within our capacity and take life as it happens.
It's the same for me as it is for someone else. 
The Queen puts her shoes on the same way everyone else does.  Obviously our shoes don't have the perks of Royalty! But you get my meaning. #Cinderella
We can map out our lives, our education goals, where we are going to live and raise our children. It all sounds good in theory and on paper but we never know what the unexpected can bring.Be kind to others if you can. I know it's easier said than done but it can be more calming for the soul. I also know that's hard too because many people are just difficult to deal with on a daily basis.  But if you can, it is healthier all the way around to build strong enriching relationships. 

Accountability

Is the correct thing to do but when you're not a man, you punk out.

The litmus test for integrity and honor is accountability.

Either you have it you don't. 

 

Don't tell your sister!

How many times have I heard that from my Mother? How many times have we all heard that from someone in our immediate family or someone close to us?
My Mother use to say that all the time!! OMG!! Those words were like the secret service lingo.  She'd say "don't say nothing to your sister." I'd be like oh shit, here she goes....is this a test or what? If it's something bad & someone is in trouble do I just ignore what she said? Act like it never happened? 
I don't know! But talk about being mind F/ed and drinking the Kool-Aide! I could never figure that out and now that she's been gone it confuses me even more because I can't ask her why.  Why keep so many secrets? Why act like everything is ok when it's not?
Who knows? I don't. But I can say this - be honest with your kids, your siblings, your spouse/significant other. 
When we lie we just build a wall of deceit.  Nothing good ever came out of lying.
